Bellair Expansion with New Management Team on Board

Bellair (Scotland) Limited was founded by managing director Alistair Campbell OBE. The company as it is known today evolved into an all-sector property company in the 1970s from Alistair’s family-run plumbing business, George Campbell & Sons, which was established in Falkirk by his grandfather in the early 1900s.

Alistair’s son Colin Campbell, aged 31, joins Bellair from Jones Lang LaSalle where he was an associate director in the capital markets team with responsibility for financial modelling and analysis of potential investment acquisitions for private clients, developers, blue chip organisations and foreign investors.

During his time with the Jones Lang LaSalle Colin was involved in over £750m of property transactions including the sale of the Omni Centre to TH Real Estate and Port Hamilton, Scottish Widows headquarters, which represents the largest office sale in Edinburgh at £105.5m.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, Crawford Geddes, aged 50, has held a number of senior positions in the property industry. He was partner in charge of the Edinburgh office of Fuller Peiser, which was acquired by BNP Paribas, a leader in global banking and financial services.  He left there in 2002 to become one of the founding directors of Keiller Edinburgh with responsibility for identifying and realising new commercial development and investment opportunities. Having sold down the Keiller portfolio he has latterly focused on retail schemes with national occupiers, joining Bellair earlier this year.

Commenting on the appointments, Bellair’s managing director Alistair Campbell OBE, said: “These new appointments come at a pivotal time as we are looking to grow the business.  Both Colin and Crawford bring a wealth of experience and this move represents an exciting new era of succession and expansion for Bellair.”

Colin Campbell, director and fourth generation of the Campbell family to join the business, added:  “Our main aim with the ‘new’ Bellair is to take the company to the next level, building the business through targeted investment with a focus on development and asset management opportunities with a turnaround period of 18 to 24 months.”

“We have an ambitious yet achievable business plan to take us there and are already delivering multi-scale projects, both independently and through joint ventures with a variety of stakeholders.”

Bellair have most recently  spearheaded a proposed redevelopment of Falkirk Town Centre in July of this year with the unveiling of a £150m regeneration master plan focused around Falkirk Grahamston railway station and the surrounding area covering some 6.7 acres.

Crawford Geddes, director at Bellair (Scotland) Ltd, concluded: “This is an exciting time to join Bellair and it’s a move, which to some extent formalises a long-standing working relationship with Alistair Campbell.  Our combined expertise and network will help to leverage the business further.”
