New TAG connected smartwatch on sale at Laing Edinburgh

Available online and in-store, the new TAG Heuer Connected has been developed in partnership with Intel and Google combining connectivity and computing intelligence with over 150 years’ Swiss watchmaking expertise. Its design is based on TAG’s existing Carrera line, is 46mm in diameter with a case, back and lugs made from grade 2 titanium, which is lighter and more scratch resistant than steel or gold.  An Intel Atom processor runs the Android Wear operating system, which enables a comprehensive range of connectivity options including music streaming, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Owners can also tap into apps such as Google Fit, Google Maps and exclusive apps for golf and trail walking amongst others.

This innovative water-resistant timepiece also boasts a digital watch face with three digital watch dials that mirror the Carrera’s analogue faces complete with hands, index, counters, date window and minute track.  It comes with a textured black rubber strap with red, blue, white, orange, green and yellow versions that are sold separately. The strap buckle is made from grade 2 titanium.

There is also a sapphire crystal touchscreen, a crown at 3 o’clock to help with navigation and the watch also benefits from a small microphone and 4GB of internal memory as well as an all-day battery life thanks to the latest generation lithium battery.

Laing’s Chairman, Michael Laing OBE, said: “This is an incredibly sophisticated smartwatch that has all the stylish aesthetics and engineering of a fine Swiss watch combined with state-of-the-art technology. It’s retailing at an accessible price point, which means the TAG Heuer Connected is also appealing to sports, walking and gym enthusiasts of all ages, whether purchased as an everyday timepiece or for its functional smartwatch capabilities.”

The TAG Heuer Connected is priced at £1100 and is available from www.laingedinburgh.com or visit the store at 72 George Street, Edinburgh.
